Children ages 3 months to 4 years old.
Locations are separated by age. There are infant locations and toddler locations.
Enrollment is year-round.
All locations are open from 8:00AM to 6:00PM.
Extended hours may be available upon request at an additional cost.
Zusin Daycare is open for most of the year, except for the following six U.S. holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
Full-time and part-time schedules are available. We require a minimum of 2 days (16 hours) per week.
There is no registration fee.
Waiting lists will vary by location. If interested in a specific location please let us know. There is a waiting list fee of $49.
It depends, a spot can become available within a few weeks to a couple of months.
There is a maximum capacity of 12 children per location.
Zusin Daycare uses the Mother Goose Curriculum; a research-based preschool curriculum that fosters a joy of learning through sensory-based experiences.
All locations have a music class once a week. On the daily basis, there is story time as well as interactive play with the caregivers.
Yes, children follow a daily schedule which can be provided upon request. Younger children (infants) are slowly transitioned from their "current" schedule to the daycare's schedule.
All locations have a backyard that is child-safe and friendly. Children go to the backyard on a daily-basis, weather permitting. Children are never removed from the premises.
The number of caregivers vary by location. Zusin Daycare ensures that the ratio of child to caregivers follows OCFS regulations.
For infants, the ratio is 2 children to 1 caregiver. For toddlers (2 years and older) the ratio is 6 children to 1 caregiver.
As per OCFS regulations, potential employees must pass a background check and be cleared and approved by OCFS to become a daycare assistant caregiver.
Caregivers receive 15 hours of OCFS- approved trainings every year. In addition, all caregivers are First Aid and CPR certified.
Zusin Daycare promotes parent and caregiver interaction. Through Kinderlime, our electronic platform, the caregivers are able to communicate with parents throughout the day. Caregivers will give you updates on your child's day as well as send pictures of your child enjoying their time at daycare!
Zusin Daycare currently uses Procare Connect. Through the Procare app, parents are able to sign in/out their child, communicate with the caregivers, and access their invoices.
Children are not allowed in a daycare with the temperature over 100.5. If a child is found ill in any way a parent will be notified and the child will need to be picked up by the parent. Children will not be allowed to return to daycare until they have been symptom-free for at least 24 hours. If your child has been diagnosed with COVID-19, Chicken Pox, Coxsackie’s, ear infection, flu, conjunctivitis (pink eye) etc. Caregivers must be informed of such cases and a note from a doctor must be submitted in order to return to daycare. A child's health and safety is our main priority.
No, as per OCFS regulations, our program is not allowed to administer medications.
As per OCFS regulations, all children must be vaccinated. Zusin Daycare will keep documentation of immunizations up-to-date for all children.
Zusin Daycare provides breakfast, lunch, and snack. All meals are nutritious and organic. The menu can be provided upon request. For infants, parents must provide formula and/or breast milk.
Zusin Daycare will gladly provide alternative foods if needed (e.g., almond milk instead of regular dairy milk).
All caregivers are trained to work with children with food allergies. Their health and safety is our main priority. If your child has allergies, please let us know immediately.
Yes. Most parents find it very beneficial to have their child attend 2-3 half days prior to starting their first full day.
During Covid-19, regulations about open-door policy have changed. Now we are not allowing parents or visitors to enter daycare premises, to avoid cross-contamination.

Zusin Daycare has an open-door policy and encourages parents to drop-in if they are available. However, we ask that courtesy is exhibited. Also, please keep in mind that caregivers must give the children their undivided attention.
At the moment, Zusin Daycare does not accept vouchers as payment.
